If you cannot find a standard LCD module that fits your needs, then we will be pleased to assist you with a bespoke solution.

Although our range of off-the-shelf LCD modules is comprehensive, it may be that your product needs to be a special display, perhaps with symbols or text and a numerical layout particular to making your product easier to use.

Many of our customers find that a custom display helps give their product a distinct and special ergonomic quality that makes their design stand out against the competition.

It may be that colour-coded display segments or a graphical design that couldn’t be displayed with dot-matrix characters would be appropriate.

The process begins with identifying your preferred dimensions and segment content. We can advise on the most cost-effective overall size. This is generally determined by how many individual displays can be produced on one sheet of “motherglass” as it passes along the production line and can make a significant difference to unit cost.

Drawings are prepared and when approved, prototypes are made. These are evaluated and used to test your electronics design.

Once approved your custom LCD can go into mass production.

Our role is to advise and ensure that the manufacturer correctly implements your requirements. We use our expertise to cut down the time taken to arrive at costeffective and attractive looking displays.

Apart from size and segment detail, other options are available:
• TN or STN fluid
• Dye doped or first minima fluids and cells
• Extended temperature ranges
• Polarizer mode and coloured polarizers (for bar-graphs etc)
• Display mode - positive / negative.
• Connector method - to suit your board layout and production processes
• Backlights - LED, EL and CCFL - are available.
• Fitted Connectors and Cable Assemblies are available

Although there is generally no MOQ, the practical minimum custom order is 1000pcs in production. Smaller quantities can be produced at higher unit costs. Each project is judged on it’s own merits and quite often smaller quantities can be produced if required. All custom modules come complete with drive electronics and backlights. These can be based on existing glass, or a completely brand-new design, to your specification. The logical next step is a turnkey display assembly- please contact us for details.
